Redes sociais e jornalismo: o advento da pósverdade como fenómeno definidor do real e a sua relação com os media

Abstract

The post-truth, not being recent, has been strengthened by several events around the world. Fake news are routinely disseminated through digital social networks, constituting instruments for the dispersion of news that are conducive to shocks of opinion and the escalation of truths more supported by feelings than by facts. Alongside this, the traditional media, especially the journalism they transmit, have, for many, lost their importance as scrupulous revealers of truth. This text, therefore, brings up a sociological discussion on these phenomena, presenting at the end a short reflection on the place of the sociologist in the (de)construction of (post-)truth.
