Estágio Profissional: O Diário de uma Estudante Estagiária

Abstract

This internship report is part of the 2nd year of the Master's Degree in Physical Education Teaching in Basic and Secondary Education, aiming to present the activities carried out in the context of the professional internship. which took place, from September 2020 to June 2021, at the D. Dinis Basic and Secondary School, in Santo Tirso (EBSDD). The objective of the Professional Internship (EP) is to enable the intern student to understand the phenomena that occur at the School and, therefore, it was necessary to permanently use the skills acquired during the Degree, Masters and other educational process, and simultaneously analyze such diverse elements as: the students and their characteristics, the school and its dynamics or the internship nucleus. During this year, I was given the opportunity to deepen my professional experience at EBSDD. I had the opportunity to teach the Aerobics Gymnastics Short Term Training Unit (UFCD) - choreographic montage, to a class of the Professional Sports Technician Course (CPTD), in the 11th year. Not being the curricular subject of Physical Education, this is one of the UFCD pre-defined in the CPTD training framework and aims to train students to work in gyms and leisure centers. This was a year of many constraints caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, forcing a constant adaptation of planning. The fact that we were subjected to a period of class isolation, to general confinement and to all the rules of the school's contingency plan, threatened the students' performance and motivation and forced us to develop strategies to mitigate these adverse effects. Thus, together with my colleagues from the Internship Center, we consider it was relevant to study the impacts of the pandemic in Physical Education classes, analyzing the perspectives of the sports teachers.
