Abstract

This dissertation reflects on the relationship of the project with the history through an exercise of conceiving an introspective space for an old house's garden. Starting from a historical analysis and the understanding of the place as a prime condition for the projecting process, a proposal is made based on the religious spatial references of various times to create, by analogy, a non-religious space of and for our times. The idea is to create a space that exceeds the physical and material character of architecture in our profane world, to get into an immaterial, intangible, and transcendent domain. The focus is to create an evasive moment materialized in a refuge in the garden, in a space of silence.
