| Title: | Os sentidos da cidade: o Porto nos mapas mentais dos estudantes |

| Abstract: | This article aims to discuss and reflect about some results of a research which main objective was to know and analyse the symbolic field of the city of Porto and its representations through the students of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Porto. By choosing a convenience sample, an online questionnaire survey was applied resulting in a set of 108 valid answers. In order to know the mental images of the students, 5 mental maps were collected. The results make it possible to know and deconstruct the city by the student's eyes through a reading of their mental organization they do from it and the elements that they identify as guiding in the space. |
| Description: | O presente artigo procura discutir e refletir sobre alguns resultados de uma investigação que teve como prin-cipal objetivo conhecer e analisar o campo simbólico da cidade do Porto, e as suas representações através dos estudantes da Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto. Optando-se por uma amostra de conveniência, foi aplicado um inquérito por questionário online resultando num conjunto de 108 respostas válidas. De forma a conhecer as imagens mentais dos estudantes, foram recolhidos cinco mapas mentais. Os resultados possibilitam conhecer e desconstruir a cidade aos olhos dos estudantes através de uma leitura da organização mental que fa-zem da mesma e dos elementos que identificam como orientadores no espaço. |
