Contextos de descoberta e desafios do estudo dos sítios pré-históricos do Aproveitamento Hidroelétrico de Ribeiradio-Ermida

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the conditions under which have been studied a group of three prehistoric sites located in the Middle Vouga river - Rôdo, Vau and Bispeira 8 - and present a brief synthesis regarding the diachrony of each site. These sites were identified during the final phase of the construction of the Ribeiradio-Ermida dam, a project located in a "deserted area" concerning prehistoric research. This absence of research has conditioned the planning of preventive archaeology, challenging the teams that were developing the archaeological work, and the community of archaeologists in general, to find strategies to overcome such constraints. From such efforts resulted an update of Vouga's valley heritage and a contribution to the knowledge of the regional prehistoric chrono-cultural sequence
