| Abstract: | In this brief essay, we analyze Hélia Correia's latest novel to date, Um Bailarino na Batalha. The text emphasizes the representation of a historical phenomenon (African migration towards Europe) and, at the same time, relationships between the two sexes. The author succeeds in creating, through the aligning of these vectors, episodes of great scenic effect and of a frightening cruelty. |
| Description: | Neste breve ensaio, pretende-se analisar o último romance de Hélia Correia, Um Bailarino na Batalha. O texto põe a tónica na representação de um fenómeno histórico (as migrações africanas em direção à Europa) e, simultaneamente, no jogo de forças entre os dois sexos. A autora consegue, através da aliança destes vetores, criar episódios de grande efeito cénico e de uma crueza assustadora. |
