dc.description	A obra de João Mendes Ribeiro caracteriza-se pela sua interdisciplinaridadee pelas múltiplas ligações que o Arquiteto possui com o universo das Artes.Assim, surge este trabalho com o intuito de criar uma leitura de sua obraem torno do processo criativo e da metodologia de projeto de João MendesRibeiro. Para tal, será fundamental a definição de suas temáticas constantese da continuidade e evolução destas ao longo do tempo, decorrente de umprocesso de observação e análise de três projetos: Centro de Artes Visuais(1997-2003), Casa das Caldeiras (1999-2008) e Estufas Tropicais doJardim Botânico da Universidade de Coimbra (2011-2016). Estes serãoanalisados segundo as suas singularidades e semelhanças, considerando-seos momentos distintos da obra de João Mendes Ribeiro. A finalidade da tesepassa por poder contribuir para a construção do estado do conhecimento emelhor entendimento em torno do pensamento do Arquiteto e construir umolhar sobre a sua obra voltado para a Arquitetura.
dc.description.abstract	João Mendes Ribeiro's work is characterized by its interdisciplinarity andby the multiple links that the Architect has with the universe of the Arts.Thus, this thesis arises in order to create a reading of his work around thecreative process and project methodology of João Mendes Ribeiro. To thisend, it will be essential to define their constant themes and their continuityand evolution over time, resulting from a process of observation and analysisof three projects, Center for Visual Arts (1997-2003), Boiler House (1999-2008) and Tropical Greenhouses of the Botanical Garden of the University ofCoimbra (2011-2016). These will be analyzed according to their singularitiesand similarities, considering the distinct moments of João Mendes Ribeiro'swork. Its purpose is to be able to contribute to the construction of the state ofknowledge and better understanding around the architect's thinking and tobuild a look on his work focused on Architecture.
