| Abstract: | This dissertation aims to study the work of Austrian architect Rudolph Schindler and understand his method of designing architecture. The work recounts his background and influences, and builds on his theoretical writings and on the analysis of three case studies - Kings Road House (1921-1922), the How House (1925) and the House Presburguer (1945) - in order to understand the evolution of the architectural concepts put in place between the decade of twenty and the post World War II. |
| Description: | Esta dissertação tem por objectivo estudar a obra do arquiteto austríaco Rudolph Schindler e perceber o seu método de projectar arquitetura. O trabalho relata o seu percurso e influências, e desenvolve- se com base nos seus escritos teóricos e numa análise de três casos de estudo-a sua própria casa em Kings Road (1921-1922), a Casa How (1925) e a Casa Presburguer (1945)-, com o intuito de compreender a evolução dos conceitos arquitetónicos postos em prática, entre a década de vinte e o pós-segunda-guerra mundial. |
