DA ADEGA À HABITAÇÃO - projecto de Reabilitação na Região Demarcada do Douro

Abstract

The present dissertation comprises of the realization of a theoretical practical invetigation of rehabilitation of an old wine cellar, currently inhospitable, located in Carrazeda de Ansiães, Portugal. This rehabilitation will consist in the metamorphosis of the preexisting building, converting it into a new use - housing. Through this project it is intended to study, the relationship between the past, the present and its transformation for the future, thus awakening issues of a timeless nature on the conditioning factors underlying the rehabilitation intervention in a building. Theoretical investigation and analysis appear as a complement to the creative project process, since the case study motivates reflections on the intervention problems in a preexisting building. Thus, the aim of this dissertation is to stimulate the pertinence of the rehabilitation and reactivation of an devoluted building, as well as the conservation of its memory, through the adaptation for contemporary housing needs, praising its architectural value.
