Durability of thermal renderings: durability assessment procedures

Abstract

Thermal renderings in multilayer systems are a recent trend in the building industry. Several durability assessment procedures applicable to thermal renderings, based on existing standards (EN 1015 and ETAG 004) or reported in connected research studies, were analyzed. A common strategy could not be found in the different research studies,highlighting the need for its development. The loadings assumed in those studies were reproduced numerically using WUFI Pro and Abaqus softwares. The results were analyzed to support the selection of a test protocol that can be applied in durability assessment procedures of thermal renderings.
