Abstract

The notebook focuses on the project of a housing project in Rua do Pinhal, Alfena. A constant reflection on the theme of housing in a real context implies understanding the context of the place, as well as dwelling, given the constraints imposed by them, in an organized whole that exposes the different insurgencies of the creative process, whether they are proposals of the client, the architect or regulations. In the same plane, the concepts inherent to construction are explored, which are part of the process in search of a project closely related to the specificity of the place. In contrast to a assumed formal structure, the layout of the notebook is continuous in a collection of texts on matters inherent to the process, starting from the initial circumstance, to the progressive meeting of the proposed solution. The body of the text describes the conditions of the place and the proposal, together with a reflection on the context in which it is inserted, as well as a reflection on themes when living in a constant intersection with the project solution, which aims to respond to a program and the various problems raised throughout the process. The framing and justification of the architectural options are being exposed in the different themes of the project, being referenced practical and theoretical subjects pertinent to the process. The design of these single-family homes is a case study where dialectics is approached, the "home" being an architectural creation that responds to the need to shelter human nature, adapted to the complexity it takes in contemporary times.
