dc.description	Criada em 1919, Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto surgiu num tempo político muitocomplexo, marcado por fortes tensões políticas e ideológicas, no pós-Grande Guerra. Com a sua criação, oGoverno respondeu a uma repetida reivindicação da Universidade do Porto e da opinião pública para aintrodução das humanidades nesta Universidade, até então considerada incompleta. O presente textoprocura inserir a criação desta Faculdade no seu contexto histórico
dc.description.abstract	Created in 1919, the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto emerged in a very complexpolitical time, marked by strong political and ideological tensions after the Great War. With its creation,the Government responded to a repeated demand by the University of Porto and public opinion for theintroduction of the humanities in this university, which until then was considered incomplete. The presenttext seeks to insert the creation of this Faculty in its historical context.
