O percurso de um estudante-estagiário: consolidar a teoria na procura da melhoria contínua no ensino da Educação Física

Abstract

The school placement presents itself as the final stage of the initial teacher education, where the confrontation takes place between the knowledge acquired during teacher education and the real teaching practice. That is, it is the privileged moment to consolidate the knowledge acquired and in front of the students achieve the process of continuous improvement. Indeed, this is the moment in which the preservice teacher lives for the first time this confrontation, the difficulties arising from the context are exposed, and where his practical inexperience is evidenced. Therefore, exists the need to monitor, analyses, reflect, research, identify opportunities and actions aimed to improving as well as to experiment with new knowledge and strategies that allow the preservice teacher to overcome obstacles, in search of continuous improvement. The present practicum report seeks to portray and interpret the role of a preservice teacher (the author) throughout the school placement, based on the identification of (in) successes, the scrutiny carried out, and, in collaboration with peers, the solutions for continuous improvement. This document is divided into seven major chapters: Introduction; Personal Dimension; Professional Practice Framework; Realization of Professional Practice; Professional Development and Conclusions and Perspectives for the Future. The first chapter seeks to frame the reader in the context, purpose and content of the Practicum Report. In the second, an autobiographical reflection is carried out where the preservice teacher motivations, potentialities, difficulties and expectations are highlighted. Subsequently, the third chapter arises, where a characterization, conceptual, legal, institutional and functional of the School Placement, as well as the contextual reality of the cooperating school is realized. The fourth chapter seeks to report all the difficulties and strategies acquired by the preservice teacher in the instructional, management and social systems, and here is inserted a Research Study entitled "The Effect of the Model of Sports Education in Retention of Student Learning in Basketball". In the fifth, there is a report about teacher's relations with the community, as well as their contribution to their development. The sixth chapter encompasses the activities and experiences that contributed to the construction of professional competence. Finally, in the last chapter, a conclusion is inserted that includes a retrospective of the entire process of school placement, aiming at a professional future.
