| Title: | Dois modelos de intervenção patrimonial em Centros Históricos: cidade-arquivo e cidade-arquivo-vivo |

| Abstract: | The elaboration and implementation of public policies to intervene in historical centers arouses debates in several scientific areas, and the field of Heritage Studies plays a prominent role in this context of multidisciplinary discussion. Situated in this debate, the present article proposes a new pair of concepts to discuss critically the practices of patrimonial intervention in historical centers: the archive city model and the living-archive city model. The pair of notions is constructed from the theoretical contributions presented by the anthropologist Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett in her study on the meta-cultural character of the heritage and, at the same time, corroborates the understanding (with anthropological background) of the cultural heritage as an entity with tangible and intangible dimensions that are inseparable. At the end of the text, it is tried to demonstrate the applicability of the two patrimonial intervention models proposed from the consideration of a case study: the historical center of Salvador (Bahia), Brazil. |
| Description: | A elaboração e implementação de políticas públicas para intervir nos centros históricos suscitam debates em diversas áreas científicas, tendo o campo dos Estudos do Património um papel de destaque nesse contexto de discussão multidisciplinar. Situando-se nesse debate, o presente artigo propõe um novo par de noções para discutir de modo crítico as práticas de intervenção patrimonial nos centros históricos: o modelo da cidade-arquivo e o modelo da cidade-arquivovivo. O par de noções é construído partindo dos subsídios teóricos apresentados pela antropóloga Barbara Kirshenblatt-Gimblett no seu estudo a respeito do caráter meta-cultural do património e, em simultâneo, corrobora o entendimento (de fundo antropológico) do património cultural enquanto entidade com dimensões tangíveis e intangíveis que são indissociáveis. No final do texto, procura-se demonstrar a aplicabilidade dos dois modelos de intervenção patrimonial propostos a partir da consideração de um estudo de caso: o centro histórico de Salvador (Bahia), no Brasil. |
