Das redes da invisibilidade na equação contemporânea do território De Processo, projecto, obra e serviço público de água no Porto no entre séculos XIX/XX: - uma investigação/acção na perspectiva do ser arquitecto e da emergência das transdisciplinaridades em Arquitectura, hoje.

Abstract

It is purpose of this academic exercise, combining territory, urbanity and memory with education and profession, to highlight the urgency of the reweighting of the strategies for the city space and its territory, focusing on its equation the invisibility networks, specifically the infrastructure networks artificial and natural structuring, judging by having the ability to create real conditions for the development of more inclusive territory, sustained progress, blurring the boundaries/typical barriers of zoning and administrative divisions. The need for understanding of the contemporary implied revisiting the past and the use of primary sources of information mainly based on public records, so far, not organized and studied. The purpose of the process, the project's work and public service, and as a matter of working the issue of urban infra-structure networks (particularly water and sanitation, but also transport and electricity), underlined the importance of these networks of invisibility in the invention of the city's image, exploring, by individual character, the case of Porto (the city and its territory), in the historical period that here is called between centuries (XIX / XX), considered fundamental to understand the paradigm of transformation that occurred in society and in the country. The methodological approach is assumed as transdisciplinary, between research and action in a reflexive perspective and systematic critique and, working the relationship between object and subject, translates compromised vision of him with the view expressed here. The study now presented results of my architect, professor and researcher condition. These three context dimensions, linked together in my praxis and reflection, form the basis for the above-mentioned axes of thought that structure the organization of this investigation, deliberately qualitative / comprehensive scope and gives the body a final reflection on the current state of the teaching / profession in architecture and society.
