Percepção e memória. Escola de Dança no Mercado Cultural do Carandá

Abstract

The present Masters dissertation integrates a study about Mercado Cultural do Carandá, a project signed by the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, having as bottom line personal memories and experiences, and having the intent to expound the history of the building itself as well the history of those who lived in it and with it. This study focuses on the perception of space, throughout different life stages (personal and of the building), using both individual and collective memory, enabling, therefore, to endeavour an analysis on the way how space is inhabited and perceived, in a particular context.
