| Abstract: | The present dissertation treated to analyze the Hotel Douro 41, located in Castelo de Paiva, a work authored by Serôdio Furtado & Associados, in order to understand what defines its true Architectural quality. Based on the definition of "Atmosphere" by Peter Zumthor, it began by describing the "atmospheres" existing in the work through a first impression, as a starting point for the analysis of the work. It was considered the antecedents that led to its construction, reflecting the context of the work and its history as well as the political, economic and social factors that led to the construction of the hotel, not forgetting the methods and concepts of the Architecture produced by Serôdio Furtado & Associados . It is from his Architectonic thought that the work was analyzed, focusing on the spaces that acquire the main idea corresponding to the Architectural quality of the Hotel. With this analysis, it was intended to show how the work is able to value, through its "Atmospheres within the Landscape", its surrounding landscape corresponding to the traditional, rural and natural heritage present in the region of Castelo de Paiva and Douro. |
| Description: | A presente Dissertação tratou de analisar o Hotel Douro 41, situado em Castelo de Paiva, obra de autoria da Serôdio Furtado & Associados, com o objetivo de perceber o que define a sua verdadeira qualidade Arquitetónica. Tendo por base a definição de "Atmosfera" por Peter Zumthor, começou-se por descrever as "atmosferas" existentes na obra através de uma primeira impressão, enquanto ponto de partida da análise da obra. Foram considerados os antecedentes que levaram à sua construção, refletindo o contexto da obra e a sua história bem como os fatores políticos, económicos e sociais, que levaram á construção do hotel, não esquecendo os métodos e conceitos da Arquitetura produzida pela Serôdio Furtado & Associados. É a partir do seu pensamento Arquitetónico que foi feita a análise á obra, incidindo nos espaços que adquirem a ideia principal correspondente à qualidade Arquitetónica do Hotel. Com esta análise pretendeu-se mostrar a forma como a obra consegue valorizar, através das suas "Atmosferas dentro da Paisagem", a sua envolvente paisagística correspondente ao património tradicional, rural e natural presente na região de Castelo de Paiva e no Douro. |
