PADRONIZAÇÃO NA ARQUITETURA. Uma resposta ao concurso Sydney affordable housing

Abstract

The purpose of this dissertation was to combine practical-theoretical research in the framework of systematic, repetitive and standardized architecture, culminating in the presentation of a concrete architectural model. The work began with the design of a cell-type, with presentation for an international architectural competition, "Sydney Affordable housing", based on the one's previous work presented for the subject of Project 3. Simultaneously, the work of three architects -João Álvaro Rocha, Christopher Alexander, Alvar Aalto- was studied, as a reference to the drawing of the type-cell, culminating in the application of this cell to different buildings, trying to prove its adaptability and flexibility.
