| Abstract: | This dissertation intends to, on one hand, understand how the human body perceives space and, on the other, comprehend in which way space can respond to the individual's needs. The object of this study will be the living space, the space in which the body will relate to more intimately. Aside from physical shelter, human beings look for psychological and emotional satisfaction during the period in which they inhabit a space, so it is extremely important to understand the set of spatial factors that direct the body towards an harmonious or indifferent relation with the space. In its turn, space has certain aspects that will allow a whole adaptation of the body or that, otherwise, will cause resistance in that sense. The analysis of space will be carried out evoking housing projects that have aroused personal interest and focusing on the body as the agent that experiences the space. A concern with the body's experience in the process of designing the space is present in the chosen case studies, and it will be important to realize how these experiences continue through the body's action, motivated by the language of space, or if they stagnate. In this way, an active attitude of the body towards the space in which it inhabits is sought, according to its will in mirroring the dimension of its interiority, and this determination can be accentuated throughout its life, given the unpredictability that occurs over time. |
| Description: | A presente dissertação procura, por um lado, compreender o modo como o corpo humano perceciona o espaço e, em contrapartida, entender de que forma o espaço poderá dar resposta(s) às necessidades do indivíduo. O objeto de estudo será o espaço habitacional, aquele com o qual o corpo irá se relacionar de forma mais íntima. Além de um abrigo físico, o ser humano procura uma satisfação psicológica e emocional aquando do período de vivência no espaço em que habita, sendo, portanto, de extrema importância compreender o conjunto de fatores espacias que direciona o corpo no sentido de uma relação harmónica ou de uma relação apática para com o espaço. Este, por sua vez, terá certos aspetos que permitirão uma apropriação integral do corpo ou, pelo contrário, causarão resistência nesse sentido. A análise do espaço será efetivada com a evocação de projetos de habitação que suscitam um interesse pessoal, sendo analisados através de uma grelha de leitura que realçam o corpo como o agente de experimentação do espaço. Uma preocupação com a experiência do corpo no processo de desenho do espaço está presente nos casos de estudo escolhidos, e será importante perceber de que forma estas experiências têm continuidade pela acção do corpo, motivadas pela linguagem do espaço ou se, pelo contrário, se estagnam. Procura-se, deste modo, refletir sobre uma atitude ativa do corpo para com o espaço em que habita, segundo uma vontade do mesmo em espelhar a dimensão da sua interioridade, sendo que esta determinação poderá ser acentuada ao longo da sua vida, dadas as imprevisibilidades que ocorrem ao longo do tempo. |
