O Projeto do Moderno entre Portugal e o Brasil: As influências na obra do arquiteto Fernando Pinho

Abstract

The present work is dedicated to studying the work of the Portuguese architect Fernando Ferreira de Pinho. Pinho was formed in the two Portuguese Fine Arts schools between the years of 1940 and 1952, a period in the history of Portuguese modern architecture, and of the architecture schools themselves. After graduating, the architect migrated to Brazil, where he developed an extensive architectural production marked by characteristics of the modern movement, at a time when modern Brazilian architecture, after having reached great repercussion in the previous decade, began to spread in the current construction and popularize . This work, through the recovery and analysis of his works, intends to perceive influences that the architect might have received from both the modern movement of Portugal and Brazil.
