Análise Programática para a reabilitação de uma ruína | O Cine-teatro de Santo Tirso

Abstract

Starting from a personal memory, this work has as his practical case the old Cine-theater of Santo Tirso. The question of an architectural proposal for this space, which is currently in ruin, results in a programmatic research developed around the continuity of language existing in space and the importance of the memory of theater for the city, whether social or urban. The connection between the memory of space and its functional investigation results in the analysis of the program that becomes a priority and almost inevitable, either as a starting point or as a consequence or even "final product" of this work, since there is an intention in designing the program that best suits space, the city, the inhabitants and ruin. As the practical case is an both social and architectural icon of the city, the program and study of Cinetheaters in general becomes one of the complementary themes of this work.
