Arquitectura para todos: Reestruturar a visão do cidadão sobre a arquitectura e os arquitectos

Abstract

The differences in architectural assessments between architects and non-architects are analysed in search of a better understanding of its origins and how it manifests. Architecture is not only the art form that involves most of the everyday life, but is also a cultural reflection of the society in which it is built, in space and in time. Given the importance of architecture, it seems necessary that the non-architect understands the reasons why the architect design in a certain way, and internalize that architecture is much more than its simple formal appreciation. After analysing the differences in the assessments, some possible approaches to reduce this gap are addressed by raising public awareness of the world around them.
