Abstract

Football is a collective sport with a big impact in society from modern times. The winner of a game is the one that puts the ball more times inside the opponents' goal, stopping at the same time the opposite. So that the probability from that increases it is necessary to have a cooperation between every intervener. The role of a coach is very influential, and should enable common ideas in all players, affording more and more tools to help its knowledge of the team as well as the players. The observation and analysis of matches has been increasingly essential, providing more information about the opponent that can be used to exploit its weaknesses as well as nullify its strengths. This type of help should also be used depending on the team itself. This internship reported is aimed at the conclusion of the 2nd cycle in Sport for Children and Young People, at the Faculty of Sport of the University of Porto, and was held in the Under-17 team of Rio Ave Futebol Clube during the 2016/2017 season. Throughout this, it will be possible to verify reflections about the sporting season where I have been inserted, mainly in the national youth championship, organized by the Portuguese Football Federation, but also with the participation in the Acácio Lello Cup (administered by the Porto Football Association) and also in the International Tournament of Rezé in France. All of these competitions have contributed to a growth as a coach, making me better able to cope with similar experiences in the future. The analysis of social networks has been growing due to the recognition it has for the help it provides in the preparation of the games. The study developed according to my desire to explore this area, analyzing two different games of the team where I was inserted. The Social Networks Analysis allowed to evaluate the collective and individual offensive behavior of the team in question, demonstrating its importance of performing also to opposing teams.
