Abstract

The subject of this thesis is the project of restoration of a very important historical structure located in the ancient village of Golferenzo, in the province of Pavia. The present state of abandonment and degradation of many buildings belonging to the historic / architectural heritage is a topical issue that affects the entire world of architecture. Universitary studies have taught me how to read architecture through the drawings and the sensibility and then hold them together. I have learned that in this discipline analysis, research, interpretation and most of all observation are essential practices for successful intervention. This is precisely the first working phase of my thesis project, which starts from the study of the state of affairs of the architectural complex that we are interested to and the understanding of its typological and constructive structure, as well as a historical research that also affects the context in which it is insert. The aim is to achieve a profound restoration, capable of restoring value to the rich historical and architectural memory of the building, but also to respond adequately to the new requirements of the use of the artefact.
