dc.description.abstract | An approach for the optimization of composite structures, including uncertainties in mechanical properties and structural parameters, is proposed. The purpose is to estimate a response that is also a function of those uncertainties and seek robust and reliable structures. The principles of Reliability-based Robust Design Optimization (RBRDO) are applied. A PMA-based approach that allows avoiding the computational expensive second cycle of the reliability analysis is proposed. | |
