Corpetes, pulseiras e batons : género e diferença na cultura punk em Portugal e no Brasil

Abstract

This article aims to contribute to the understanding of young culture emergence in Portugal and Brazil in what it means to be young from a feminine gender. Despite the presence of women since the beginning of punk and the pretension of gender equality, what stands out is the existence of a persistent denial of main roles in the scenes. This lack of women in punk was / is felt as an outrage and a great example of male hegemony in the history of popular culture and youth cultures. Thus, this article reflects the analysis of narratives of women in Portuguese and Brazilian punk: 10 narratives of women who, due to their age, lived the early beginning of punk in Portugal (late 1970s and early 1980s) and 10 Women who participated and continue in the riot grrrl movement in Brazil (1995-2016).
