Title: A multicriteria approach to identify the adequate wind power penetration in isolated grids

Abstract: In this paper, a multicriteria approachto identify the adequate wind power penetration inisolated grids is presented. A discussionconcerning the impact of increasing theintegration of power generation from renewablesources, in particular wind power, is presented.The assessment of the impact is a decisionproblem where conflicting criteria (maximization ofrenewable integration, cost minimization and CO2emissions minimization) are taken into account.Decision aid procedures based on referencetrade-offs and on value functions are then appliedto the problem, in a way suitable for a posteriorijudgments from a Decision Maker. Finally, thepossible preferred solutions are subject to a fullydynamic simulation in order to evaluate thesystem behavior following a wind disturbance andto determine power quality impacts.
