Title: Fuzzy controllers with reduced rulebases and real-time capability for power systems supervision
Issue Date: 2001
Abstract: Multi-input/multi-output fuzzy logicbased controllers allow the inclusion ofdierent types of knowledge about the controlled process. The application of multivariable fuzzy controllers in a real process is di cult due to prac ticallimitations. This paper desc ribes an approach to the implementation of a MIMOfuzzy hierarchical controller in a real process. Introducing a loop struc ture forthe fuzzy controller, the approach is based on a mixed decomposition methodand a hierarchical struc ture. The approach allows an important reduction ina global fuzzy re lation needed to control the process under consideration theparallel operation of uninterruptible power supplies. The process multivariableand nonlinear charac teristics make it an appropriate one to te st the presented method. Generalized simulation re sults are presented based on the proposedapproach. The comparative experimental results presented show the validity ofthe method.
