As Oportunidades Profissionais dos Imigrantes no Grande Porto

Abstract

This paper consists in the identification, in theoretical and practical terms, of the relation between the professional attainment levels and a set of professional, dwelling and neighbourhood variables of immigrants living in the Great Porto Area. It presents the research methodology, the data treatment process, the econometric model and the conclusions achieved, in order to allow the definition of a scale of professional success as a function of dwelling location, neighbourhood characteristics, urban morphology, immigrantsŽ population groups, and respective employment and professional situation.
