| Descrição: | The focus of this thesis is to address the fact that people have very little control of the process when authenticating themselves to an electronic device. Usually a username and a password have to be provided during the process, and the user has no choice but to trust that this information will not be stolen or abused. One of the solutions to this problem is to use a device like a smartphone, which a user could employ to authenticate itself to any other device with internet access, without having to supply it with any personal information. This thesis analyses the solutions that employ this method, comparing them to my own implementation which uses an Android application to read a QR code and login. |
