Abstract

The certification process promoted by the Portuguese Football Federation seeks to guarantee that the clubs have the adequate conditions to assure quality standards in the process of training young athletes in Portugal. This project´s goal is to enable the certification of Associação Académica de Coimbra - Organismo Autónomo de Futebol as a three-star Training Entity in women´s football. Therefore, the project focused on analyzing and answering to the nine criteria defined in the ambit of certification, aiming to make sure the club ensures good sporting, infrastructural, organizational and economic financial management in women´s football training. This way, the project may be a fundamental element for the sustainable development of this sport at the club. The project began with a literature review that supported it, based on contextualizing the reality of women´s football and its evolution, as well as sports management focused on the growth and development of clubs. Next, the constraints and fundamentals of the project were discussed, followed by the methodology and presentation of the project drawn up as part of the application for certification. Finally, there was an analysis of the project, a conclusion and prospects, followed by the final summary.
