Abstract

The Construction Workplace Safety Specialization, in partnership with the Civil Engineering and Safety and Quality Specialty Colleges of the Order of Engineers, is promoting the conference "What could be the future of Safety in Construction?" on December 10th at the Order of Engineers Auditorium in Lisbon. After a period without in-person initiatives, this conference marks the return to the in-person format, reaffirming the Order of Engineers' commitment to the technical and professional development of its members and to the debate of key issues for the sector. The evolution of Occupational Safety and Health in Construction currently faces significant challenges, driven by technological transformation, the digitalization of construction sites, the integration of intelligent systems, and the growing need to consider human dimensions such as mental health and emotional intelligence. The conference will bring together national and international experts who will address these issues, promoting informed reflection on emerging trends and innovative solutions for the future of the sector. The program integrates technical presentations, institutional perspectives, and roundtables with leading entities, providing a privileged opportunity for updating, debating, and sharing knowledge among professionals, academia, companies, and public bodies.
