| Abstract: | In this research I intend to analyze how technology in audiovisual performative contexts can be an ally to (re)create necessary links to Nature and create an audiovisual performance for an open-air natural space. The concept of Ecosophy will serve as a theoretical anchor to support the theoretical and practical context. Cyclical mechanisms of Nature will be observed, documented and studied (e.g. night-day, sounds throughout the day, plant movement, tidal cyclicity, moon phases, ...) which will then inspire the practical and artistic work with audiovisual technology. The concept of "cyclical" will be worked artistically through audiovisual technologies, namely by the use of loops (i.e. repetition of a sound track) and visual repetitive gestures (i.e. repetition of a video track) in real time, thus creating an analogy with the cyclicality of Nature, with the ultimate goal of empathizing the audience for the Human-Nature reconnection. |
| Description: | Nesta investigação pretendo analisar de que modo a tecnologia em contextos performativos audiovisuais pode ser uma aliada para (re)criar laços necessários à Natureza e criar uma performance audiovisual para um espaço natural a céu aberto. O conceito de Ecopsicologia servirá de âncora teórica para dar suporte ao contexto teórico-prático. Serão observados, documentados e estudados mecanismos cíclicos da Natureza (e.g. noite-dia, sonoridades ao longo do dia, movimento de plantas, ciclicidade das marés, fases da lua, ...) que depois irão inspirar o trabalho prático e artístico com tecnologia audiovisual. O conceito de "cíclico" será trabalhado artisticamente através da tecnologias audiovisuais, nomeadamente pelo uso de loops (i.e. repetição de um trecho sonoro) e gestos repetitivos visuais (i.e. repetição de um trecho de vídeo) em tempo real, criando assim uma analogia com a ciclicidade da Natureza, tendo como objetivo final empatizar o público para a reconexão Humano-Natureza. |
