| Abstract: | This dissertation has as theme of study the intervention on the consolidated city through an analysis and detailed interpretation of the urban set to the street Justino Cruz and Francisco Sanchez, in Braga, designed by Agostinho Ricca. Along with this, we studied other previous plans as the Palácio para a Praça D.º João I (CODA), the residential and services zones for the Sá da Bandeira and Júlio Dinis streets, the MG building, the Parque Residencial Boavista and the Hotel-Teatro, in Oporto.The analysis of the introduced works was born of the given opportunity to consult the original plans under which the architect projects were developed from the 1950s and 1980s.Along with this, we tried to understand the national and international context, with the formulation of a brief survey of how other architects worked and introduced the typology of the tower in urban complexes.In order to explore how Agostinho Ricca projected is architecture, what were his concerns and solutions to intervene in the consolidated city, we highlight the building's relationship with the city and its history, as long as the creation of public spaces and the programmatic mix of the urban complexes.Finally, without wishing to prepare a recipe of how to act, we seek to identify the problems and the possible answers to the integration of the architectural mass of Braga in the current panorama of the city. |
| Description: | A presente dissertação tem como tema de investigação o conjunto urbano para a Rua Justino Cruz e Francisco Sanchez (Braga), projetado por Agostinho Ricca, uma intervenção moderna na cidade consolidada. Fazem parte do estudo outros planos anteriores como o Palácio de Escritórios para a Praça Dº João I (CODA), os conjuntos residenciais e de serviços para as ruas Sá da Bandeira e Júlio Dinis, edifício MG, Parque Residencial da Boavista e o edifício Hotel-Teatro, todos na cidade do Porto.A análise das obras apresentadas parte da oportunidade de consulta aos processos originais sob os quais é desenvolvido um trabalho de interpretação dos projetos concebidos pelo arquiteto entre os anos 1950 e 1980.Procurou-se compreender o contexto nacional e internacional, elaborando-se uma breve pesquisa sobre a forma como outros arquitetos introduziram e trabalharam a tipologia da torre integrada em conjuntos urbanos.Com o objetivo de investigar como se projeta quais são as inquietações e soluções encontradas pelo arquiteto ao intervir na cidade consolidada, evidencia-se a relação do edifício com a cidade e a história, a criação dos espaços públicos, e a variedade programática dos conjuntos propostos por Agostinho Ricca.Por fim, sem se pretender elaborar uma receita de como atuar procura-se identificar os problemas e possíveis respostas à renovação/reutilização do conjunto arquitetónico de Braga no panorama atual da cidade. |
