| Abstract: | The present dissertation aims to analyse and ponder over the Interventions on Industrial Structures that integrate the Portuguese Modern Movement. Three case studies will be analysed: Bolsa do Pescado, in Massarelos, Oporto (1933-35); Armazém Frigorífico do Bacalhau da Doca de Alcântara, in Lisbon (1939) and the Industrial Complex Oliva, in São João da Madeira (1950-61). It is proposed to clarify the decisions made in the requalification projects, establishing a link between the nature of the original structure and its adaptation to a new programme, highlighting the interpretation of the details of the Modern Movement present in the original project, which guided and/or influenced the intervention project. |
| Description: | A presente dissertação de mestrado pretende analisar e reflectir sobre Intervenções em Estruturas Industriais que integram o período Movimento Moderno português, tendo como base três casos de estudo: Bolsa do Pescado, em Massarelos no Porto (1933-35); Armazém Frigorífico do Bacalhau da Doca de Alcântara, em Lisboa (1939) e Complexo Industrial da Oliva, em São João da Madeira (1950-61). Procura-se esclarecer as opções de projecto, estabelecendo um paralelismo entre o carácter da estrutura pré-existente e a sua adaptação ao novo programa, evidenciando a leitura das características da arquitectura do Movimento Moderno do projecto original, que orientaram e/ou influenciaram o projecto de intervenção. |
