A Arquitetura da Moda. Entre o Efémero e o Permanente

Abstract

The following reflection develops on the moments of architecture, whether ephemeral or perennial, that result from the collaboration of Fashion and Architecture. In order to introduce this theme, we begin by exploring the relationship between these two arts in a general way, this way we can progressively deepen the proposition in order to arrive at our case study. The fashion shows are approached in this dissertation as part of the ephemeral architecture that is born from the junction of these two disciplines, as well as shops, foundations and buildings with other programs whose impulse for the realisation of the project has been a luxury or couture brand. During our reflection we will explain how these parades and works can mean architecture and stimulate architecture in such a way that it faces problems of a different nature and above all in such a manner as to strengthen at various levels, all the brands with which it collaborates. Our case study addresses the long-standing partnership between OMA and Prada. Together, these two entities have designed facilities, fashion shows, shops and even a Foundation.The creations resulting from the association of the work of Rem Koolhaas with that of Miuccia Prada show us not only the fruits of a collaboration between Fashion and Architecture, but also how the moments that arise from the union of the two disciplines, however ephemeral, can be eternalized in the memory of those who lived them.
