Title: | Aprendendo com a Eva.
Issue Date: | 2020-12-18 |
Abstract: | Eva magazine drawn, between 1933 and 1971, a set of residences designed by Luís Cristino da Silva, João Simões and the pair Victor Palla and Joaquim Bento de Almeida - the "Casas da Eva" , experimental designs that would be assigned, every year, on the tradicional "Grand 1st Christmas award by Eva". This award, that included the construction of the project, in a place chosen by the winner, and also furniture and apliances, most of them "offered" by the regular advertisers, shows, in one hand, the "house‐as‐object" idea, used like an "advertising gift", and on the other hand, the use of arquitecture and its images as a way to attract the reader‐buyer to adhere to a certain life style, endorsed and published by this magazine. Consequently, this criative editorial campaign, represents, outstandingly, the privilege that media can assume for a specific architectural speach and the impact that it has on the mediation throught arquitectural images, speeding up (sometimes making it Simple or schematized) the messege and increasing the chance of dialog between arquitects and its audience - between erudite culture and popular culture. |
