dc.description	PLATTENBAU \| INDUSTRIALIZAÇÃO \| HABITAÇÃO \| REABILITAÇÃO No lado leste de Berlim, marcado pela herança da RDA, encontram-se os testemunhos de uma cidade de génese socialista, marcada pelos bairros de habitação e pelos blocos residenciais Plattenbau, construídos durante o período pós-guerra. A problematização do enquadramento desta arquitetura na paisagem urbana contemporânea motivou o desenvolvimento do estudo em torno da temática da preservação e atualização dos edifícios Plattenbau. Deste modo, a presente investigação incide sobre um dos bairros construídos na cidade, o Neu-Hohenschönhausen, onde se identifica um conjunto de desajustes - arquitetónicos e sociais - transversais ao edificado da ex-RDA. O mesmo providencia, igualmente, um caso de estudo concreto, a partir do qual se desenvolveu um projeto de arquitetura que procura ultrapassar os constrangimentos que dificultam a regeneração e a integração do parque habitacional socialista numa realidade corrente.
dc.description.abstract	PLATTENBAU \| INDUSTRIALISATION \| HOUSING \| REHABILITATION On the east side of Berlin, shaped by the heritage of GDR, are the testimonies of a city of a socialist genesis, characterized by the residential districts and the Plattenbau blocks, built during the post-war period. The problematization of this architecture on the contemporary horizon regarding the preservation and updating of Plattenbau buildings. Thereby, this research focuses on one of the city's neighbourhoods, Neu-Hohenschönhausen, where a number of problems - architectural and social - are identified, which are transversal to the former GDR's buildings. It also provides a concrete case study, from which an architectural project has been developed, which seeks to overcome the constraints that hinder the regeneration and integration of the socialist building in a current reality.
