O Estágio Profissional como Lugar Importante e Específico na Construção da Profissão de Professor

Abstract

This report was realized as part of the Professional Internship, a curricular unit inserted in the second year, namely third and fourth semesters, of the study plan in the 2º Ciclo de Ensino de Educação Física nos Ensinos Básico e Secundário at the Faculdade de Desporto da Universidade do Porto in the academic year 2019/2020. With the objective of reflecting on the activities developed during a year as a student from Timor-Leste, this report also addresses the context of educational policy and the functioning of the education system and Physical Education at school in Timor-Leste, always analyzing during the Internship in Portugal the two different educational realities. The Professional Internship is a privileged place for Student Trainees in which each student is responsible for the functions as a teacher in initiation at school, while simultaneously learning and teaching. In performing tasks as a beginning teacher when assuming this responsibility, faces several difficulties that go through feelings that involve multiple dimensions such as thinking, doing, feeling, sharing and deciding, signaling a shock with reality. To overcome the difficult moments in school, it is necessary to learning with cooperator and advisor teachers, and learn with experienced professionals. However, the internship nucleus, consists of a cooperator, advisor and trainee students (EE's-Estudante Estagiarios), is an indispensable space for reflecting and sharing experiences and difficulties and finding answers. Therefore, teacher training is very important in skills development to acquire specific skills and professionalism in profession. However, to be a teacher it is necessary to have adequate training to improve the quality of teaching, to be an innovative, productive, creative teacher and always updating knowledge as it is a requirement of the profession.
