dc.description	Simultaneamente patrimonial, pública e interuniversitária, a Bibliothèque SainteGeneviève (BSG) fica no coração de Paris, em pleno Quartier Latin, mesmo ao lado do Panthéon.Apresenta características notáveis, não só pelas coleções que encerra, como também pelo magníficoedifício que ocupa. Foi lá que, durante uma semana, realizamos um curto estágio, em maio de 2019,no âmbito do programa ERASMUS+. Neste texto, procuramos ilustrar, em traços largos, aspetosimportantes da sua história, funcionamento, organização e programação. Assim, das coleções aosleitores; dos recursos humanos ao orçamento; da política científica à implementação do novo sistemainformático; das atividades de conservação e restauro ao projeto de fusão com a Bibliothèque SainteBarbe, tentamos, dentro das nossas limitações, pintar o retrato de uma das maiores bibliotecas deFrança. Tendo sido seguido um plano de estágio especificamente preparado para a ocasião, são,ainda, mencionados alguns detalhes que, ao longo desse período, observamos.
dc.description.abstract	Being a national, public and academic Library, Sainte-Geneviève Library (BSG), in theheart of Paris, right in the middle of Quartier Latin, at Place du Panthéon, has very specialcharacteristics which, in a necessarily brief presentation, are mentioned in this text. Its magnificentbuilding and precious collections are the main reason, along with a history of more than 1.000 years,for the importance and fame BSG has been gathering over the centuries. We were given the chanceof a small trainee period at BSG, in May 2019, within the frame of ERASMUS+ program. This is whywe were able to discover very interesting details about BSG collections, organization, functioning andprogramming. From the medieval manuscripts to the 2019 editions; from readers to staff; from thescientific politics to this year's budget; from the restoration works to the ongoing fusion with SainteBarbe Library, we tried to honor, with this text, BSG and its name
