| Title: | Reabilitação de património industrial no Alto-Vicentino. Do percurso de arqueologia industrial à intervenção no Lanifício Ferrarin |

| Abstract: | This thesis faces the theme of the valorization and the rehabilitation of the industrial heritage, the set of buildings constructed in the XIX and XX centuries, today without function, but characterized by a specific spatiality, illumination and also architectural value. Through an brief historical path between the evolution of the concept of heritage and the development of the rehabilitation theories, is propose a rehabilitation project, which provides: first, the drawing of an industrial and archeological route in the Italian area of Alto Vicentino, that develops in three textile industrial poles (Fabbrica Alta, Lanerossi, Lanificio Ferrarin), touching the landscape and architectural resources alredy there; second, it advances to a scale of detail, deepening the reflection about the Lanifico Ferrarin as an example of industrial rehabilitation. One of the reasons for the choice of this theme is the social, economic and cultural importance that industry and its development had in Alto Vicentino, and in Italy too, in the XIX and XX centuries. One most reason is the desire to propose new functions to these empty structures, which have been fundamental for the economic and social development of this area. This territorial and architectural project is based on a theoretical research and description aboout the most relevant issue of the rehabilitation, and, moreover, about the concept of heirtage, especially the industrial heritage, and its evolution. Were considered some of the main contemporary theories of the intervention on existing buildings, the new dimensions of recognition of landscape and architectural heritage and the importance of valorization and reuse. Moreover, it's also the characteristics of the region, the values and the topography of the site, for understand better the complexity of the Alto Vicentino, characterized by several landscape and architetural resources, such as the presence of the numerous works of the architect Andrea Palladio. The project, by establishing a correlation between the existing research on the industrial heritage and a real project of rehabilitation, can contribute to the reflections and also to promote contemporary intervention in the other industrial buldings of the region. |
| Description: | Nesta dissertação afronta-se o tema da valorização e reabilitação do património industrial, designadamente o conjunto de edifícios construídos nos séculos XIX e XX que hoje se encontram abandonados e sem função, mas aos quais se atribui valor atendendo à sua espacialidade, iluminação e qualidades tectónicas. Assim, propõe-se aprofundar alguns temas de intervenção em preexistências com valor patrimonial e um projeto concreto de requalificação, que prevê: em primeiro lugar, o desenho de um percurso arqueológico industrial na área italiana do Alto Vicentino que se desenvolve em torno de três polos industriais do sector têxtil (Fabbrica Alta, Lanerossi, Lanificio Ferrarin), tocando os recursos, ambientais, paisagísticos e arquitetónicos que estão presentes nesta zona; em segundo lugar avança para uma escala de maior detalhe aprofundando a reflexão em torno do edifício Lanifico Ferrarin, como exemplo de reabilitação industrial. A escolha justifica-se pela importância ao nível social, económico e cultural que a indústria e o seu desenvolvimento teve no Alto Vicentino, e em toda a Itália, no século XIX, e também a vontade de dar nova vida e função a estes polos devolutos que foram fundamentais para o desenvolvimento económico e social deste território. A proposta de intervenção de âmbito territorial e arquitetónico baseia-se numa pesquisa e sistematização teórica sobre as questões mais pertinentes para a acção de reabilitação do existente que se encontram subjacentes do conceito de património, e sobretudo, do património industrial. Consideraram-se, assim, algumas teorias de intervenção no construído, as novas dimensões de reconhecimento do património paisagístico e arquitetónico, e a importância da valorização e da ação de reuso. Atende-se, ainda, à leitura do existente, analisando-se as características da região, os valores existentes e a topografia do sítio, de modo contribuir para a compreensão da complexidade do território do Alto Vicentino, rico de recursos ambientais e paisagísticos e também arquitetónicos, como a presença das numerosas obras do arquiteto Andrea Palladio. O projecto que se apresenta no âmbito da presente dissertação, ao estabelecer uma correlação entre os discursos existentes sobre o património industrial e um objecto concreto de reabilitação, poderá contribuir para as reflexões em curso e também para prospetivar a intervenção contemporânea noutros polos industriais da região. |
