Description: O Programa Mobilizador de I&amp;D para a Prevenção
e Combate de Incêndios Florestais (PCIF), criado
pela Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia
(FCT), surge na sequência dos grandes incêndios de
2017 e no âmbito das recomendações integradas no
Relatório da Comissão Técnica Independente. Este
Programa teve como missão promover atividades de
investigação e inovação orientadas para a solução de
problemas concretos e a difusão do conhecimento para
uma mobilização cidadã, numa perspetiva de cultura
científica ativa nas diversas dimensões do planeamento,
gestão e valorização da fl oresta, bem como na prevenção
e combate a incêndios rurais, incluindo a previsão e
estudo de condições meteorológicas. Operacionalizado
em três edições do concurso (PCIF 2017, PCIF 2018
e PCIF 2019), o Programa financiou 56 projetos, num
investimento de cerca de 15 M€.
Face à missão de aumentar o impacto da investigação, a
FCT criou a estrutura de acompanhamento FCT-CoLAB
ForestWISE, envolvendo um Fórum Colegial, que integra
representantes da Agência para a Gestão Integrada de
Fogos Rurais (AGIF), da Agência Nacional de Inovação
(ANI), do Instituto da Conservação da Natureza e das
Florestas (ICNF) e do Instituto Nacional de Investigação
Agrária e Veterinária (INIAV). O CoLAB ForestWISE
desenvolveu e implementou uma metodologia de
avaliação dos resultados produzidos e de análise
de impacto para a sociedade, baseada na interação
produtiva com investigadores e partes interessadas.
A metodologia foi implementada numa primeira fase
para os projetos PCIF 2017 e, posteriormente, para os
projetos PCIF 2018 e PCIF 2019.
Este relatório-síntese apresenta a metodologia
Path4Impact e sua operacionalização ao Programa
Mobilizador de I&amp;D, culminando com uma reflexão
estratégica e recomendações para maximização do
impacto da investigação aplicada.</summary>

where the activities referred to in sections 2 and 3 were performed by staff of respectively "Centro de
Fusao Nuclear" (CFN) and "Centro de Física de Plasmas" (CFP). Fusion related activities of both
Research Units have been carried out in the frame of the Contract of Association between "Instituto
Superior Técnico" and the European Atomic Energy Community (EURATOM). Sections 4 and 5
contain information about the publications, post-graduation degrees, organization of scientific
meetings and participation in the management of the EURATOM Fusion Programme.</summary>

    <summary type="text">Title: Policies and strategies for dealing with demographic change/shrinkage in Oporto (Portugal)
Abstract: This report highlights the issues faced by local areas against the backdrop of policies or planning models that have directed local development in the past decades (e.g. introduction of new industries such as information technology/bio-technology following the de-industrialisation of mining/manufacturing industries) but today appear less suitable than expected to ensure the sustainability of local development.
This report is timely in discussing cases from 20 countries around the world and particularly signalling local strategies and initiatives for policy consideration and learning. The report considers together issues at the crossroads of modern local development in the context of demographic change: population mobility and urban shrinkage, regeneration strategies to stimulate sustainable growth, and social dynamics underpinning community stability.</summary>

    <summary type="text">Title: Annex 2: Study of uncertainty for quality assessment of loss data
Abstract: This report presents a state of the art for recording disaster loss data in European Union member states. It summarizes
the contribution of experts from 15 EU Member States. A comparative analysis shows that methodologies for disaster loss
data collection and recording in Europe are heterogeneous and that the available loss databases vary in their level of
completeness and detail. Also IT systems vary in purpose, complexity and openness. This precludes a reliable and
representative aggregation of loss data at the EU level.
This report provides recommendations to European Union Member States that would help increase the quality of (shared)
loss data within the current policy framework. It is recommended to continue the consultative process in a third phase
with the aim of expanding the network of Member States ready to participate, tackling remaining technical issues in the
EU framework for disaster loss recording and assisting Member States in implementing better loss data recording
processes.</summary>
